Everything You Need To Know About HTML In One Simple Lesson

Let’s be honest. If you are reading an article with this kind of title, you probably aren’t an accomplished HTML programmer. If you have never seen what HTML looks like, click on “view” in your menu bar, and then “source code” or something like that. You will see a bunch of mumbo jumbo. Here is everything you will need to know about HTML to get along just fine in the world of Internet marketing, all in one simple lesson.

HTML is simply a set of syntax and rules for defining how a web page will look. Unless you are in the website development business, you can get by if you know these two things.

1. Making a link. The most used piece of HTML coding is using it to make a link. The format is:

“a href=”yourwebsite.com”>your text a/” Note: There will be a “” at the end to tell it where to begin and end.

For example, then, if you have a web page named, “http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Jack_Beddall” and you want a link that says, “Articles by Jack Beddall,” you would use the following:

href=”http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Jack_Beddall”>Articles by Jack Beddall a/. This would produce a link that said “Articles by Jack Beddall.” Clicking on “Jack Beddall” will take you to the URL.

For ease, I keep an Word file (although it could be an Excel file as easily) with two columns. In the first column, I have the name of the text I want to display, and the second column is the link itself. I add one by copying the template syntax to the file, and then filling in the website name between the quote marks, and the text I want to show between the . To make sure it works, I always copy and paste it into my browser before I actually use it. This is in a file called “html links.” Whenever I need to place a link in an email or on a web page, I open the “html links” file, copy the link I want, and paste it to where it belongs. The whole process can be done in about 15 seconds.

2. Banners work the same way, with the same syntax. You will probably never need to create a banner on you own. If you need one, you will get the code from the website that is providing the banner. The code will have two parts, an “HREF,” which is the URL for the website it will go to, and an “IMG SRC,” which is the location of the banner graphic. Just as with the link, it is only a matter of copy and paste.

So there you have it. All you need to know about HTML in one easy lesson, and you didn’t have to buy a $49 ebook to explain it to you.

The Benefits of the Top PPC Services

If you’re looking to start a PPC campaign for the first time, then you’ve probably noticed that there are many different options. There are only a few that you should seriously consider, though, because of their volume of customers.

The top PPC services are offered up by Google and Yahoo, with Google dominating the head-to-head match up in convincing fashion. Both of these top PPC services offer similar features and benefits, and you can run a very successful campaign with either. So which should you choose? If you’re gunning for the biggest campaign possible, then you should probably choose Google. Simply put, no other search marketing service out there can match Google customer for customer. If you’re looking for the most possible customers for your PPC management campaign, then Google is it.

Of course, Yahoo’s search marketing service is also an extremely viable tool for reaching online customers. If your campaign is a little bit smaller and relies heavily on careful targeting, then Yahoo can be a great choice. Some individuals decide to use both of these services in tandem, creating a comprehensive campaign that increases the potential pool of customers.

Just because Google and Yahoo are the biggest names in the game doesn’t mean there aren’t other relevant players. Several others exist, such as Ask.com and MSN. And, on a smaller scale, there are several other niche PPC providers. Sometimes, these services can actually be a better bet for a small campaign, because certain keywords can be less saturated than with the big services. This makes is possible to have a lower cost per click average, and thus makes it possible to increase the profitability of the campaign. Of course, the biggest drawback of these services is their scope. On a large scale, they can’t compete with the numbers of the top PPC services.

In truth, almost all of the PPC services you can choose from offer very similar features and benefits. There is a standard across the PPC industry, and most services comply tot his. But as Google and Yahoo are very large media companies, they have developed very smooth systems that are bug-free and streamlined. But what really separates the top PPC services is simply volume. Google does more customer volume than all the other PPC services combined. Yahoo is a solid (though distant) second place. Both of these campaigns can be used on a large-scale basis, while the other services are perhaps better suited for smaller, more specified PPC campaigns.

How do you build massive Internet Wealth? It’s all in the List…

Ever heard this one before?

Having read countless articles, sought endless expert advice and heard numerous success stories of how people have built unimaginable wealth on the Internet using the power of opt-in lists, you finally decide to have one of your own. Presuming you know everything there is to know about opt-in lists you follow all the advice to the Tee. And you fail to make even a single dime.

You may in fact, be losing money. Maybe you hired writers to help out with your articles, or you blew hundreds of dollars in fruitless advertising. Perhaps you even got as far as building a big list, only to find that a tiny percentage actually converts to sales.

Which ever way you look at it, you’ve failed to make a profit, and after a few months of desperately peering at your statistics and sales figures, you come to the conclusion that your dreams of Internet wealthbuilding are over.

You ask yourself what could possibly have gone wrong. You wonder why others have succeeded where you have failed. You begin to think you were too hasty, diving straight in like that. You begin to doubt the validity of your product, or worse, your own ability.

Have similar thoughts ever crossed your mind?

Take heart, however - just because you emailed people on your list does not mean they’ll buy instantly. Patience is the key!

Whether you’re just starting out, or you’re already building an opt-in list but id doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, here’s three quick and easy steps to set you on the right track:

1) Make sure you are selling product or service is one that people really need.

And get to know your product. Too many people forget this. How can you expect your subscribers to buy something you haven’t bothered to research or learn about thoroughly? You carry it forward - knowledge and belief, or lack of it. Invest some time and effort to research your product properly.

2) Join forums, where you can provide expert advice and recommendations, allowing you to build an aura of trust around you. By doing this you can build a base around other forum users, inviting them to join your opt-in list. Because they know and trust you already, they will make good customers. Through your forum posts link to your site they will be able to see what your business is all about. They’ll begin to believe in you and your products. You can increase your credibility even more by writing and submitting articles and posting blogs, which will also build more potential subscribers and customers.

3) Make friends with other opt-in list users (forums are an invaluable tool here, too). Let them mentor you - someone who has already launched a successful opt-in list will be able to tell you what to do and what not to do, They can steer you clear of potential pitfalls and mistakes to avoid, because they have gone through it themselves. Experience is the best teacher, and there is nothing better than learning from the mistakes of others!

It takes great preparation and effort to build a profitable opt-in list - it doesn’t happen overnight. Opt-in lists have to be built from scratch and, once built, take some maintenance. Always keep yours organized and manageable. But use it to Keep your subscribers happy and they’ll be willing to buy from you time and time again. Build Your list, and you are on the road to building Internet wealth!

Your Competitor’s Are Closing In. Where Are You?

Companies give themselves large high fives once they see their Internet site being ranked in the search engines. For those that spend the ongoing learning time, testing time and money involved to get their sites ranked high on the search engines, the profits could be huge.

Observing the set forth gauges for search engine optimization can make the difference in great placement or poor positioning within the engines people use to search with. Remember, a search engine is how your customer finds you. If he doesn’t find you, he will find your competitor. How relevant your key words are to what you’re selling will make the difference between a hit or a miss of your customer seeing your web site.

Put optimization to work for you. Get it right and you’ll do wonderfully. Do it wrong and your results will show in your lack of traffic. The structure of your site as well as keyword relevance are both very important. What words or phrases best describe what you offer? Make sure your content is well written, easy to understand and consistent throughout the pages. Back linking or external linking is of major importance. It makes the difference between traffic and no traffic.

One place you never want to fall short on is the copy on your site. Take special attention here. Make sure you have several people read it over. Correct any errors, even if they seem silly to you. If you simply copy and paste your web site text from you’re company marketing piece, that’s not going to cut it. Don’t stuff your web site copy with keywords or phrases unnecessarily. This not only makes it read poorly but the search engines could consider it spam and your site could lose it’s positioning in the search engines.

Keywords within the text of your web pages are the most important consideration for Google. Font information and where (on your site) your keywords can be found is another. Google always seems to return better search results than other commercial search engines.

The SEO systems of yesterday are hardly the SEO tools of today. At least for the customer oriented companies. Why is it that some of the biggest names in SEO still use some of the oldest “tricks in the book” when the search engines dictate exactly what they want from them? We don’t know but we do know in order for the client to maintain the advantage over its’ competitors, a strong online and unique presence wins out every time.

Search engines, along with directories, are always improving how they deliver targeted results. This means continual tracking, keeping up with the Joneses if you will, in order for you to maintain your high ranking. If you don’t keep up with the new situations within the search engines or directories you could, in fact, hurt your rankings a great deal.

Search engine rankings won’t sell your product. Your web site does that. If you overlook things like branding, customer satisfaction, transparency and traditional marketing methods when you create your web site, it will do no better than if you weren’t ranked at all. Internet business is not so different from real world bricks and mortar businesses. If your prospect doesn’t feel the love, perhaps your competitor will offer that. And that’s where they will buy.
