Tips for Selecting Brochure and Postcard Printers

An effective marketing tool that businesses use regularly to communicate to clients is by a postcard. Your messages are received immediately and they are low cost and affordable.

Advanced printing technologies with up-to-date machines will enable several different postcards to be printed at the same time and they can all have a different design, for a lot less. For that reason, choosing a reputable printer is the first and most important step before signing a printing contract.

Quality and service are the two most important factors when choosing a printing company. And, the quality of the printed postcards is vital to the success of your campaign. Take the time to review some of their previous print jobs and contact customers to get their feedback as well.

Prepress and post press areas at the printer’s location should be common. A prepress predominately offers a qualified, professional graphic designer to advise you on the color schemes, fonts, layouts and design of your postcard. As an example, having the right resolution for a graphic largely depends on the quality of paper that will be used for the printing. Paper that is more coarse or heavy does not require a fine resolution whereby a higher quality paper does.

The printer you are going to select for printing your postcard should have advanced printing machines capable of printing minimum four colors. The new age computer process controlled printing machines require minimum manual adjustments in terms of ink-water balance and can therefore churn out more consistent high quality prints. Other crucial adjustments like print density, print clarity, etc. are also taken care of by the electronic sensors for delivering desirable quality.

It is important to choose a printer that has the ability to handle paper of varying sizes and thickness. There could be additional costs incurred if the printing machine does not support the paper you have chosen for your project. Also, if the machine cannot handle very thin or heavy gauge papers then the printed output may not reflect the desired quality. By reviewing all of these issues with the printer, in advance of making a commitment, will ensure that your project will meet the specified deadline and the output will contain the desired quality in which you have initially intended.

Ideally, the printing company that you employ should be able to offer everything you need all within his or her operation. A post press division will enhance the look of the postcard with some of the special treatments like varnishing, dye stamping and lamination. Another benefit would be if the printer could provide a mailing facility as well.

Mailing facilities, variable data printing, corporate marketing programs and account management facilities are just a few of the special services that you should expect for a hassle-free printing solution.
