Acing Your On-Page Optimization
If you are trying to perfect your on page optimisation for your website, you’re probably realizing that it’s not so easily done. In fact, getting your website optimised is going to be really difficult. Here are some tips on what you need to do to get your SEO down perfect for your website.
Before you change anything, look to make sure that people can actually read your content. Despite what many think, it is possible to have optimized content that is readable, but it is going to take some work. It is going to take some tweaking to get everything in the proper place, for example, you are going to have to pay close attention to having the right density of keywords and having those keywords in the right locations. It isn’t going to benefit your company to have an optimized website that no one can read because it is just gibberish.
Now that your content is optimized, you want to dive a bit deeper into your website. If you don’t know about page descriptions and meta tags, it is going to be crucial that you learn about them and totally understand how they work. Remember, you need one page description for each page, and you need to write different page descriptions for every page. You can’t be lazy and just write one page description for the entire website. Doing a bit of work writing these is going to pay off by showing results a lot faster. You don’t have to write a book. Keeping them to around ten words each is probably going to net you the best results. If you still don’t know what page descriptions are, they are what the visitor to your site will see at the top of the page describing what they are looking at. You shouldn’t stuff your page descriptions with keywords, but instead make your descriptions readable and understandable.
After getting your page descriptions perfected, you are going to want to take a look at your meta tags. Meta tags are information about who wrote the page, when it was last updated or changed and some of the keywords. Because most website builders stuff their meta tags with key words, they are becoming less and less important to the search engine bots. Just like with page descriptions, try to write different meta tags for each page on your website. Unlike page descriptions, meta tags can be a bit longer, averaging around 30 words each.
Finally, if you want the perfect on-page optimization you are going to want to keep your website as up to date as possible. A search engine loves fresh content and is going to rate your website a lot higher if it was updated yesterday than if is was updated two years ago.
You need to consider on-page optimization when trying to get your website to the first page of the search engine results. Unfortunately, it isn’t very simple to do, because there are so many things to keep in mind. If you are not certain of what you are doing, ask an SEO consultant to help you out.
